Solution Summary
In this project a smart electronic parking sign for loading zones and bus stops is developed.
Key Benefits
Problem
Trucks and busses use their designated loading zones and stops for a longer time than necessary or the rules allow. A direct indicator for violations would facilitate enforcement and directly inform drivers.
Aim
To make loading zones and busstops more available.
Approach
Loading zones and stops are equipped with sensors and digital parking signs. When a vehicle is exceeding the parking time of 10 minutes, drivers and officials are notified. Furthermore, drivers can see on a map when loading zones near their destinations are empty which facilitates their route planning.
