Oosterlicht is the largest cooperatively funded solar roof in Amsterdam.
Schools often have large roofs which are suitable for the installation of solar modules. On one hand, this is giving the school the opportunity to produce its own energy or sell excess energy on the market for financial returns. On the other hand, students can get directly involved in the project and get educated about renewable energies.
To live and work on clean energy in the city of Amsterdam.
The rooftop of the IJburg College was equipped with 480 solar panels which are funded by 250€ loans by the community. The students are regularly educated on the system and can check the production of electric energy on a website and on a monitor which is installed inside the school.
